This half term our topic is...
This half term we have used the theme of Summer to explore the different things we do and places we can visit when the weather is good.
We read the story 'A Squash and a Squeeze' by Julia Donaldson and we have been learning about farms; trying different foods and growing our own vegetables. We have enjoyed playing in the role play ice cream parlour and farm shop and using different sensory materials to make ice creams. We tried different foods and learnt amazing facts like peas come from pods and potatoes make chips!
Our next story is 'Stanley's Stick' by John Hegley and we will be finding sticks around school and imagining that they are something else completely! We will be making stick people, journey sticks and using sticks to play games and make small and large scale models.
Summer Fun Day
Last week we had lots of fun at our Summer Fun Day. We watched a Punch and Judy Show, played in the sand pit, chased after bubbles and bounced on the bouncy castle. We even had a ice cream from Mr Juicy's ice cream van. Lots of parents and little brothers and sisters came along and we all had a super time!
We had our first ever Nursery Sports Day and everyone did a fantastic job! Well done to everyone who took part and to all the parents who came and cheered the children on!
Brush Your a Teeth!
We have taken part in a tooth brushing workshop in partnership with the children's centre. We learnt how to brush our teeth by practising on some extra big teeth! We all received some toothpaste, toothbrush and a timer so we can look after our teeth properly!
Goodbye and good luck!
We would like to wish all our children moving onto Reception a fond farewell. Some of our children have been in Nursery since they were 'Twinkles' and now they are moving to different schools and we will really miss them. Other children are staying at Westmoor and we can't wait to hear about how they get on in 'big' school!
Have a fantastic Summer holiday everyone!
