Homework due in!
This term in Year 4 we are learning about lots of interesting things.
We are looking at rhyming structures then writing and performing Limericks. We will be writing a range of different diary entries from perspectives. In July, we will be writing newspaper articles about our trip to Filey.
In Numeracy we will be identifying different 2D shapes and discuss properties such as the number of lines of symmetry.
During the term, we will be look at the relationship between different fractions and converting fractions to decimals.
We will be focusing on our times tables as we need to learn and confidently use all of our times tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of the year.
Farm to Fork
Through our topic we will be identifying human and physical features of the U.K.
We will be able to look at different uses of the land within the local area and how this can contribute to farming. We will also consider important transport links around the UK including road, rail and shipping in order to import ant export around our country. Discussing features of Dewsbury and the importance in the food process will form part of an inter-year debate we will be having later in the term.
We will be designing and creating our own healthy sandwich. In order to do this, extensive research will be done to gain a better understanding of healthy diets. We will be trying different breads and costing our sandwiches to eventually make our own lunch for the Filey trip.
