Reading

Mr Williamson has spent a lot of lockdown losing himself in a number of good books from Harry Potter to his
favourite cricketer's (Jonny Bairstow) autobiography. Audiobooks are a great way to listen to some of your favourite books, every week we will be sharing one of our favourites here for you to enjoy.

This week's tells the story of the 'Lady with the lamp'. Can you remember her from last months Topic work?

You can read along on the link above too!

Reading Comprehensions

This year you have improved your understanding when reading and even though we are apart, we can all practice this skill at home.

Below are 3 comprehension activities for you to have a go at, each Wednesday Mr Williamson will share his answers with you and how he got them in a short video.

Remember, don't worry if you can't complete some of the questions. Just have a go at what you can do.

Writing - Explanation Texts

Over the next few weeks we will be writing explanation texts.

An explanation text is a piece of non-fiction (factual) writing explaining an action, process or event.

Some of the features include:
- numbered points

- time connectives
- pictures

- diagrams

- labels and captions

Our first explanation text will be based on 'The Shirt Machine' which you can watch below.
