Music- J.S Bach - Brandenburg Concerto No.4

Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G major

This piece of music is one of the most famous compositions in classical music ever
written. It was written by a man named Sebastian Bach. It is a very complex composition. All the musicians need to be ready to work
together to achieve the beautiful sound.

Listen to the music – you should be able to hear lots of different instruments. Bach understood that
all instruments have their own sound so he wrote a different part for each instrument. No instrument is playing the same tune but all instruments are working
together to create one piece of music. Each instrument’s individuality is celebrated but also equal to the other instruments.

When you have listened to the song answer these questions on a piece of paper.

1) Do you like the music? Give a reason for your decision.

2) How does the song make you feel? Why do you think it makes you feel this way?

3) Lots of instruments have been used to make this piece of music, such as violins,
ggflutes and cellos. Can you identify any other instruments?

4) Can you do some research and find out the names of any other pieces of music
ggalso written by Bach?
