Nursery Stay and Plays
Every two weeks Nursery invite parents, carers and grandparents to attend our stay and play sessions.
During the last hour of the session parents can see what their children have been doing, play alongside them in their chosen activities and chat to staff about how their child is developing and what they enjoy doing at Nursery.
These sessions run alternate Wednesdays and the next session will be on 22nd January at 10:15am and 2:00pm. Please report to the main reception office upon arrival where you will be asked to sign in.
Our topic this half term is
How Does That Building Stay Up?
During the half term children will handle different building materials, and build structures out of wet sand, construction kits and blocks. We’ll also retell the story of The Three Little Pigs, practise hammering different surfaces and make mini mud bricks.
We’ll take a walk around the school area, describing what we see, and we’ll draw and describe our homes. Using our maths skills, we’ll count houses and put them in the right order. We’ll find out more about buildings and the materials from which they are made.
Working together, we’ll build a shelter big enough for us all to sit in, a bridge we can use to cross a given space and a street of colourful houses made from different containers.
If you have a photograph of your house, please bring it in so we can talk about their home and create a wonderful display of where all our children live.
We play outside rain or shine in nursery so please ensure that your child has a coat and sensible shoes on everyday.
Children can bring a named water bottle to nursery if they wish, to drink throughout the session.
PLEASE label all cardigans, jumpers and coats to avoid items getting misplaced.
Nursery times are:
Morning session - 8.15am to 11.15am
Afternoon session 12.00pm to 3.00pm
