RHSE inc PSHE
At Westmoor Primary school, RSHE will be delivered as part of a wider personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE ed) programme. Our intent is to build a RSHE curriculum that prepares children to be a respectful, tolerant, global citizen in a diverse society. Our broader PSHE ed programme includes economic well-being, careers and enterprise education. Our programme of study sets our learning opportunities for each key stage under three core themes: Health and Well-Being, Relationships, and Living in the Wider World.
The content is well-matched to the needs of the pupils. It is age (developmentally appropriate) and is based on what pupils are likely to need to know (including any safeguarding considerations) and what they are likely to be able to understand. The curriculum is sequenced and progressively builds upon prior knowledge.
The RSHE curriculum includes the acquisition of knowledge and understanding and the development of skills and respectful attitudes. The curriculum is inclusive, so it meets the needs of all pupils.

Health and wellbeing
There are meaningful opportunities for cross-curricular learning, in particular with Computing for online safety and Science for growing, nutrition, teeth, diet and lifestyle. The scheme provides consistent messages throughout the age ranges including how and where to access help. A range of teaching and learning activities are used and are based on good practice in teaching RSHE/PSHE education to ensure that all children can access learning and make progress. Our teaching of RSHE will lead to children meeting the standards of attainments across the school and those that are expected of our children nationally. Children will each make progress relative to their own individual starting point. The implementation and impact of the RSHE curriculum is assessed across school to ensure that children are provided with the best possible chance at succeeding. We strive to ensure that by the end of their time with us at Westmoor each child will:
