Year 3

Week Commencing Monday 13th July 2020

Well, it is the last week of term so we thought that it would be a nice change for you to complete some fun activities!

We are not going to say goodbye, instead, ‘ see you soon’.

School will be as normal as possible in September and we cannot wait to see each and everyone of you. Enjoy the holidays and hopefully we will have some beautiful weather.

Keep safe, Keep washing your hands and Keep smiling!

Week Commencing Monday 6th July 2020

Hello Year 3! We hope you are staying alert and keeping safe (We don't want a local lockdown like in Leicester!)

Remember to keep washing, washing and washing your hands as you sing 'Happy Birthday to you' two times!

We had a wonderful week last week celebrating Westmoor's 50th birthday in school with the children that were  in. We hope you took part at home and enjoyed it! We will upload the scarecrow we made with the year 3 children soon!

We have uploaded some 'normal' work again this week for you to get on with. Please keep your brain working and try some if not all of the activities! And remember to keep emailing the work to your teachers to be entered into the weekly prize draw.

Keep safe!

Year 3 Teachers

Week Commencing Monday 29th June

1970 - 2020

This week, we are celebrating Westmoor turning 50! Yes, that's right, 50 years since Westmoor first opened its doors as a school.

To commemorate this event, we are planning celebrations in school, including our very own Scarecrow festival (see below for more details).

Our learning will be around the year and the decade 1970's. (Before you even think it, NOPE, none of your teachers were born in the 70's so we will be doing lots of research like yourself to find out more about this era!)

This will be a great opportunity to speak to older members of your families- What were the fashions trends in the 70's? Were there any significant events in the 1970's? What kind of toys did primary school children play with? And so on...!

Week commencing Monday 22nd June
Week Commencing 15th June

Hello! We hope that you are all really well. Well done for completing any work you did last week. It is really important to do as much as possible and carry on learning at home.

Don't forget if you send us your work you get enter into a prize draw each week to win a prize!!!  Also don't forget to keeping sending us your pictures of what you have been up to during lockdown so we can add them to the amazing display in the office area at school and we love seeing what you have been doing!

Week Commencing Monday 8th June

Hello! We hope that this week’s message finds you and your families well. The weather has not been great this week, which makes it more difficult to get out for fresh air, but no excuses get your raincoat on and wellies! As you may have seen on the news, there has been lots of things going on up and down the country this week, so please remember to support and be there for each other. Also, kindness is free so, in a world where you can be anything, be kind! Please take your time and have a look at the work that is posted on our year 3 page. We would love you to send as much as possible to your teachers via email. Remember if you need any help you can also send your teacher a message. Have a great week of learning!

W/C 25.05.20

Hi Year 3,

We hope that everyone is doing as well as you can be, keep smiling and we hope you are keeping healthy and active.

This week is half term so instead of adding work to the website fun/social activities for you to have a go at. This is time for you to enjoy, have some fun, spend time with your family and relax a little.

Week commencing 18th May 2020

Hello Year 3,

We hope that you are all keeping safe and continuing to do as much work as possible at home.

We have really enjoyed speaking to some of you and your parents in the past week. Don't worry if we haven't called you yet, we will be very soon, definitely before the end of this half term!

We have realised that not many of you have been emailing work you are doing at home to us. Remember, you will be entered into the weekly prize draw if you can send in a piece of work.

Our email addresses are:

class3is@westmoorprimaryschool.co.uk

class3r@westmoorprimaryschool.co.uk

class3kp@westmoorprimaryschool.co.uk, or alternatively click on the link at the top of the page.

Below you will find your new tasks for the different subjects. As always, do what you can to keep your brains working! If you find the work a little easy, you could try the Year 5 work and if it is a little difficult, dip into the year 1/2 work. We know how busy some of your parents must be working/looking after other siblings. See if you can take ownership of your own work, but of course seek help when you need it. Email us, if you get stuck.

And finally, remember to continue practising on TT Rockstars, Reading Eggs and the Hour of Code.

We are really missing you all and are praying for some sort of normality very soon!

Mrs Ibrahim, Mrs Stuart, Mr Richardson, Mrs Khan and Miss Pazir.
